I am currently employed at Abaca Technology as the Director of Engineering.

Previously, I was employed by HP as a Senior Manager of Product Development. On November 7th, 2006, HP completed the acquisition of Mercury Interactive where I was previously employed. Mercury Interactive Corporation was a provider of software and services for the business technology optimization (BTO) marketplace. The Company has introduced a variety of BTO software and service offerings, including offerings in application delivery (pre-production quality and performance testing), application management (in-production application performance management) and, following the acquisition of Kintana, Inc. in August 2003, information technology (IT) governance. The Company’s BTO offerings for application delivery, application management and IT governance help customers maximize the business value of IT by optimizing application quality and performance, as well as managing IT costs, risks and compliance. Mercury also provides a range of customer support and professional service offerings that enable its global partners and customers to implement, customize, manage and extend its offerings.

Most recently, I was employed by Borland Software as a Senior Software Engineer. Borland Software provides software development and application infrastructure solutions that meet the various needs of its clients. The Company’s products and services are designed to address the definition, design, development, testing and deployment phases of the application development lifecycle, and help customers manage software development projects from beginning to end (software configuration management). The Company’s standards-based solutions are designed to improve software quality, accelerate the delivery of software, lower the cost of ownership and reduce risk of errors. The Company has an installed base of over three million users worldwide, including enterprises in the high technology, telecommunications, government contractors in the fields of space and defense and financial services industries. Founded in 1983, Borland is headquartered in Scotts Valley, California, with operations worldwide. In 2003, I received the Consultant of the Year Award. Below is the excerpt from the award:

This software engineer possesses all the qualities every consultant wishes they had: he’s committed, thorough, resourceful, and knowledgeable. He’s aggressive without being pushy, confident without appearing cocky and every customer loves him and wants him to return. As a consultant and trainer he has successfully delivered JBuilder, Together, Visibroker, Optimizeit, ServerTrace and BES services to customers like Pfizer, Los Angeles Police Department, Pacificare, Cisco and numerous others. When not fully engaged, he actively pursues account managers to develop business solutions that include products, consulting and training. He has consistently proven his ability to grow deals beyond their original size and has delivered over $200,000 in services this year. The Consultant of the Year for 2003 is Renato Mascardo.

Previously, I worked for Scient Corporation based in San Francisco, California as a Senior Software Engineer. Scient did three things:

  1. Develop strategies for applying eBusiness within the enterprise
  2. Architect, Design and Build digital solutions that help reduce costs and create new sources of revenue
  3. Integrate those solutions with our clients’ infrastructure to increase their ability to manage in real time

At Scient, I worked as a Software Engineer on Sephora.com building their web presence. Sephora is the leading retail beauty chain in Europe. And now they are here in the U.S. Launched in October 1999, Sephora.com extends the Sephora retail beauty concept to a wider audience, opening the doors to a new universe of beauty.

In the summer of 2000, I was a technical lead/software engineer on Powerspring.com. Powerspring.com is the premier energy management offering from Metretek Inc. The PowerSpring.com solution fulfills today’s critical need for accurate and timely energy consumption information by natural gas and electricity consumers and suppliers. Their solution integrates a well-known and widely deployed data-collection technology with a best-of-breed, Internet-based eBusiness platform.

I have worked for a variety of other companies such as Lockheed Martin, Captech Ventures Inc., Virginia Housing Development Authority and EEI Communications.
